Function of the Committee. The committee shall concern itself with the following general matters:
(a) Considering constructive criticisms of all activities so that better relations shall exist between the Board and employees.
(b) Discuss career and professional development opportunities.
(c) Reviewing suggestions from employees, questions of working conditions and service (but not grievances concerned with service).
(d) Correcting conditions causing grievances and misunderstandings.
(e) Reviewing new and revised job descriptions.

(b) Increasing operating efficiency by promoting co-operation in effecting economy moves.
(c) Promoting safety and sanitary practices and the observance of safety rules.
(d) Reviewing suggestions from employees, questions of working conditions and service (but not grievances concerned with service).
(e) Promoting education and training of the staff.
Function of the Committee. The Professional Growth Committee may review applications for Professional Growth that have been denied by Human Resources. The Committee may also consider applications for Professional Growth forwarded to it by Human Resources for review and input. The committee shall make a recommendations for approval/disapproval of coursework to the Superintendent or his designee.
Function of the Committee.
(a) The parties understand and agree that the Committee is not intended to serve as a supplement or an alternative to the grievance/arbitration process, nor to interfere with or attempt to re-negotiate any provisions of the agreement between the parties.
(b) It is intended by the parties that the Committee will be limited to serving as a vehicle for joint discussion and consultation, with a view to exploring possible solutions to mutual problems and concerns.

The Industrial Health & Safety Committee shall assist in creating a safe place of work, shall recommend actions which will improve the effectiveness of the Industrial Health & Safety Program and shall promote compliance with the regulations of the Workers' Compensation Board.
