Sick Leave Allowances. 12.02.1 Three Month Waiting Period There shall be no sickness protection during the first three (3) months of employment. After the three (3) month waiting period, three (3) days shall be set up plus one (1) additional day per month commencing in the fourth month of service up to a total of five (5) days.
Sick Leave Allowances. CURRENT SICK LEAVE ALLOWANCES All employees (except casual employees and those hired for vacation relief) who incur an injury or illness are entitled to and shall receive paid sick leave as hereinafter provided except when such an injury or illness is covered and compensated by Workers’ Compensation Board payments. The employee shall report or cause to have reported to Supervisor the injury or illness which required absence as soon as may be reasonably possible.
Sick Leave Allowances. (a) The Company shall have the right to employ a doctor to determine the nature and extent of disability or sickness and the duration of such disability or sickness at any time an Employee requests benefit under the provisions of this Article. Under normal conditions and where practical, the Company will select a doctor from the designated medical clinic referred to in Article 13 of this Agreement. The Company may request proof of disability or sickness by way of a certificate from the Employee’s own doctor.
(b) The following table shows the entitlement of an eligible Employee under this Article to have salary continued at the Employee’s basic salary rate in the event of personal disability or sickness.
Sick Leave Allowances. All probationary and permanent employees and non-competitive employees shall be allowed sick leave for personal illness as follows: Thirteen (13) days per year cumulative to two hundred fifty (250) days. An employee who has served for a period of ten (10) years or more with the Board of Education may, upon exhaustion of his sick leave allowance, apply for and be granted two (2) additional periods of thirty (30) days sick leave with full pay. This additional sick leave may be granted only once during a ten (10) year period and any unused portion shall not be cumulative. A physician's certificate may be required in connection with absence on account of illness for two (2) or more consecutive days, upon the request of the Superintendent or the employee's Department Supervisor. Sick time can be deducted in one quarter (1/4) day increments.

(a) In the year of joining no paid sick leave will be granted during the first three (3) months of service but at the end of three (3) months’ service, the employee will have a paid sick leave allowance of three (3) days set up which will be effective retroactive to the employee’s entered service date. The employee will have this increased by one (1) day for each additional month of service to a maximum of five (5) days.
(b) In the calendar year in which the first anniversary occurs ten (10) days.
(c) Thereafter at the commencement of each year five (5) additional days will be set up for each year of service to a maximum of one hundred (100) days. Vacation relief employees will not be granted paid sick leave during the first four (4) months of service, but at the end of four (4) continuous months of service will have a paid sick leave allowance of four (4) days set up. This will be increased by one (1) additional day following the fifth continuous month of service.
