Sick Leave Benefits for Care of Relatives. Employees may use paid sick leave to care for members of their immediate family pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 181.9413: absences due to an illness of or injury to a member of the Immediate Family for reasonable periods oftime as the Employee's attendance may be necessary, on the same terms upon which the Employee is able to use sick leave benefits for the Employee's own illness or injury. Pursuant to the minimum requirements of Minn. Stat. 181.9413, except for absences due to the illness or injury of a child, an Employee's use of sick leave in accordance with this Section 21.(a) shall not exceed 200 hours in any 12-month period.
