Sixth Period Teaching Assignment. The term "6th period teaching assignment" means a regular teaching assignment that is beyond the employee's 1.0 FTE teaching assignment. When the District finds it necessary to offer a 6th period teaching assignment to 1.0 FTE employees and a 1.0 FTE employee opts to accept a 6th period teaching assignment, the pay for the 6th period teaching assignment shall be determined by multiplying 20% (for a one [1] hour class) of the employee's per diem rate times the number of days of the teaching assignment.
