SALARIES AND STIPENDS. STATE SALARY SCHEDULE: Association members will be placed on the state salary schedule effective with this contract. Members adversely affected, will be provided an incentive supplemental contract equaling the difference between the 2002-2003 District Salary Schedule and the State Salary Schedule during the first two years of this contract. The difference will be calculated on an FTE pro-rata basis for less than full time employees. All supplemental contracts will be based on the Association member’s placement on the State Salary Schedule during the term of this contract. The parties acknowledge the necessity to comply fully with the salary and benefit increase limitations imposed by State Law (hereinafter the “Salary Limits”). The parties further acknowledge the complexity of the compliance problems confronting them. Thus, it is not the intent of the parties to make any agreements which would preclude the District from complying with the Salary Limits or vest employees with salaries or benefits in excess of the Salary Limits.
SALARIES AND STIPENDS. A. Certificated Employee Salary Schedule – (see Appendix C) The District salary schedule shall be the same as the state allocation schedule. Staff members' placement on the salary schedule shall reflect their education and all certified experience. Incremental payments for education and experience shall be paid in accordance with state law. Exact amounts and procedures for implementing salary increases will be developed in accordance with the SPI guidelines and the “fair share” legislation passed by the 1984 legislature. B. Horizontal Advancement on the Salary Schedule Teachers completing sufficient preparation during any year or summer to qualify for horizontal advancement on the salary schedule must come to Human Resources no later than September 10 for a review of their credits and to complete the District form requesting movement on the salary schedule. Failure to meet this deadline will eliminate any opportunity for horizontal advancement on the salary schedule during the current school year. All requests for horizontal advancement on the salary schedule shall be accompanied by proof of completion which must be in the form of an official transcript. Grade reports or other documentation will not be accepted. Official transcripts shall be submitted no later than September 10 if advancement is to be reflected in the September payroll. Official transcripts will be accepted by Human Resources up to October 1. However, teachers who fail to provide official transcripts to Human Resources by October 1 will forfeit their right to horizontal advancement during that school year. Teachers will be reimbursed solely on the basis of approved experience and credits for which appropriate documentation exists in line with existing state laws and the negotiated agreement. All credits to be used for advancement on the salary schedule, according to WAC 000-000-000, must be approved by the District as meeting at least one of the criteria defined in the WAC. Only credits approved by the State of Washington for LEAP calculations shall be approved for salary schedule advancement. C. Building Leadership in the Absence of the Principal When it becomes necessary for all building administrators to be absent from the building, the principal shall designate a certificated staff member to be in charge during the principal’s absence. SALARIES AND STIPENDS. 1. Full credit will be given for verified teaching experience in other public or private school districts or other credit that qualifies for experience credit under SPI rules. 2. Experience credit will be given for up to three (3) years for time in the armed services, provided such service interrupted the individual's teaching career. The claimant must submit verification of both the prior teaching time and the active military duty. 3. Official transcripts for courses taken must be submitted to the Superintendent by September 30, in order for salary adjustment to be made for the current year. Alternative verification (grade reports, signed clock hour applications, etc.) will be accepted until official transcripts are available in the case that official transcripts are not available by September 30, but no later than October 31. 4. Any teacher earning national certification shall receive the full amount of remuneration provided by the state. 7. Part-time substitutes working 30 or more days in the current school year shall be paid at a rate greater than the daily substitute rate as determined by the District. The Association will be informed and have input prior to changes of this pay rate. Long-term substitutes working 20 or more consecutive days in the same position shall be paid per diem rate based on the first step of the certificated salary schedule.
SALARIES AND STIPENDS. (a) Salary funding for Fellows and Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs) includes 30% salary-related on-costs, to cover items including payroll tax, workers compensation, leave loading, long-service leave, non-contributory and contributory superannuation, but it excludes items such as extended leave and severance pay. On- costs that exceed 30% and other costs (such as costs associated with or incurred as a result of extended leave and severance pay) must be met by You. (b) Salaries and stipends covered under this Agreement are based on the 2024 rates on the ARC website. (c) The salary component of Fellowships must only be used for the provision of salary and on-costs for the Fellow.

The regular rate of pay (base salary) for each certificated position in the bargaining unit shall be in accordance with the rates established for each classification, as provided in Appendix A Certificated Faculty and Staff Salary Schedule, which shall be attached hereto and made a part of this Agreement. 2. For the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the Certificated Faculty and Staff Salary Schedule shall be increased by 4%, retroactive to July 1, 2016. 3. All unit members shall receive twelve (12) equal monthly payments, to be paid on the last business day of each month. 4. Teachers with pre-intern/intern credentials may not be advanced beyond Column A units until they receive a preliminary teaching credential. This condition shall be reflected on the Certificated Faculty and Staff Salary Schedule and shall be attached to this Agreement as Appendix A.

Newly hired certificated employees shall be placed on the Othello School District salary schedule commensurate with their total years of teaching experience. Step and lane adjustments shall take effect September 1. Credits and clocks hours shall be submitted to the district Human Resources office for salary advancement no later than October 1. District personnel will be responsible for calculating the availability of increments to staff under the Othello School District salary schedule by October 31. For purposes of salary placement, ten (10) clock hours shall equal one (1) credit. Clock hours and corresponding credits will be allowed for moving lanes if total number of clock hours/credits are commensurate to total number of credits required in each lane. IPD flow through increase for the 24-25 SY and 25-26 SY. “Flow through” is defined as actual IPD, rebase, and new state apportionment funds that are allocated for certificated salaries. Salary increases shall be applied to the “Annual Contract” no later than September 1. OSD will add longevity pay to teachers with more than 16 years of service as follows: 17-20 Years: 1.0% 21-25 Years: 1.5% 26-30 Years: 2.0% 31+ Years: 2.5% Certificated employees upon employment with the District shall provide an official transcript(s) of college work for determining placement on the salary schedule. Certificated employees thereafter when eligible for horizontal movement on the certificated employees' salary schedule, shall move down to the equivalent of their full teaching experience in accordance with the provisions of this section.
