Special Assignment Differential. (a) All Police Unit employees who are not assigned to the traditional 10-plan Field Operations/Patrol shift schedule, and are assigned to schedules that regularly observe holidays off shall receive a “Special Assignment” differential equal to five percent (5%) of the employee’s current base pay. This pay is in exchange for the elimination of extra holiday compensation for these positions.
(b) While not all-inclusive, examples of those special assignments wherein the Special Assignment Differential would apply include positions within the Investigations Division, Administrative Services Division, Technical Services Division, Special Operations Division, Traffic Section, and Professional Standards Section. The primary qualifying factor for Special Assignment Differential is that the special assignment is one in which the assigned personnel generally observe all holidays off, as the section/unit “closes” on holidays. These can generally be described as “non-patrol” assignments.
Special Assignment Differential. The Company determines the 14 need and number of employees for special assignments. Special Assignment Differential. An employee assigned to work with a client who is HIV-‐positive, who has AIDS, Hepatitis C or who has an active communicable disease, such as MRSA under current prescriptive treatment as determined by a duly-‐licensed medical professional qualified to make this diagnosis or reported by the referral agency, shall be paid an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour differential in addition to his/her regular hourly wage rate for every hour of service to that client. The Employer shall be required to notify employees of the Special Assignment Differential.
Special Assignment Differential. The Company determines the need and number 27 of employees for special assignments. When the Company certifies an employee in writing, 28 they shall be paid a premium to include overtime as follows:

The following special assignments under the supervision of the detective and patrol divisions shall receive a pay differential equal to five percent (5%) of the employee’s base salary: detectives, narcotics officer, training and crime prevention officer, K-9 officer, youth officer, school resource officer, traffic officer, traffic homicide investigator, marine patrol officer, and other specialty units as developed by Police Chief.
Special Assignment Differential. Employees assigned to either detective, SITE, administrative duty or any other specialty units as developed by the Police Chief, shall receive a pay differential equal to five percent (5%) of the employee’s base salary during the time of such assignment.
Special Assignment Differential. 24.2.1 State-certified trainers shall be paid at range 31 32, and designated behind-the-wheel trainers shall be paid at range 25 26 while performing the respective duties of these positions. Eligibility and assignment to these positions shall be at the sole discretion of the district.
Special Assignment Differential. The Department agrees to pay base wage plus a special assignment differential of 5% at the time of assignment (maintenance of suppression qualifications required), and an additional 2% at the successful completion of twelve months when assigned to Fire Captain or Firefighter/Engineer working a 40-hour work schedule, excluding temporary modified duty assignments. The Department will only pay the above differential when the rank of Firefighter/Engineer or Fire Captain is made a requirement of the assignment.
