Common use of Special Day Classes Clause in Contracts

Special Day Classes. The District shall utilize the Special Education Local Plan Agency (SELPA) placement guidelines for Special Day Classes. The Director of Special Education shall establish a committee of Special Education teachers and site administrators to review the class size ratios of Special Day Classes. In determining the appropriate class size for a Special Day Class, the District shall consider the following criteria: • Range and severity of disabilities/handicaps; • Student’s age and behavioral variables; • Extent of need for individual instruction; • Amount of time student is enrolled in special classes and/or participates in regular classrooms; and • Current class size.
