Common use of Special Services Referral Clause in Contracts

Special Services Referral. The parties recognize that some children may have physical, mental and/or emotional problems that may require specialized classroom experience or the attention of district specialists. A teacher believing a student has need for special assistance may recommend such student to the building principal who may request that the appropriate professional employee evaluate such student to help determine the best placement or program for that student. Consideration will be given in placing students with special problems to avoid assigning these students to newly employed inexperienced teachers.

A If a teacher believing suspects a student has need for child may have a disability and requires special assistance may recommend such student education supports and services, the staff member should refer the child to the building principal who may request that building’s Teacher Consultant. The Teacher Consultant will consult with the appropriate professional employee evaluate such student Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team members to help determine consider the best placement or program for that studentteacher referral, existing data from MTSS and follow the evaluation process with parent consent. Consideration will be given in placing students with special problems needs to avoid assigning these students to newly employed inexperienced teachers.
