Specific Duties and Responsibilities. The duties and responsibilities assigned to the Athletic Director in connection with the Program are set forth below. The list of specific duties and responsibilities supplements, and is not exclusive of, other general duties and responsibilities provided for elsewhere in this Agreement. The specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) Be responsible for creating, enforcing, interpreting, and reviewing University’s intercollegiate athletic policies, procedures and strategic plan. (2) Assure that Coach will comply with the academic policies established by the University has plans, policies, procedures and programs that are in compliance with the Governing Athletic Rules and University Rules, and that promote the mission of the University, the University’s high standard of academic excellence, and the general welfare of student-athletes;
(3) Understand, observe and uphold all academic standards and requirements of the University, including the University Rules, Governing Athletic Rules, and all state and federal laws, and ensure compliance by coaches and other athletic department personnel;
(4) Use his/her best efforts to ensure that all academic standards, requirements, University Rules and Governing Athletic Rules are observed, including those in connection with the recruiting and eligibility of prospective and current student-athletes who are academically qualified;
(5) Develop procedures and programs that assure the welfare of student-athletes; ensure that coaching and administrative staff actively support the Department of Athletics and the University’s joint commitment to academic achievement for each student-athlete, to include promoting academic advising and counseling services; NCAA. Coach shall maintain and an environment in which the pursuit of higher education is a priority as reflected by class attendance, grade point averages, the NCAA academic progress rates (APR), and the NCAA and federal graduation rates;.
(3) Coach will ensure that he and his staff and assistant coaches recruit student-athletes who are likely to meet the University and NCAA’s academic requirements.
(4) Coach will work to integrate the student-athletes and team into the whole spectrum of academic life so as to complement the University and its mission.
(5) Coach will oversee all aspects of prospective student-athlete recruiting, including recruiting contacts, evaluations, official visits, telephone calls and other communications, and any travel-related activities of prospective student-athletes and the Program’s coaching staff.
(6) Promote athletic excellence and a competitive program on local, conference and national levels Coach agrees to arrange for the menscheduling of games for the Program and agrees that such scheduling will be mutually coordinated and agreed upon with the Athletic Director, in consideration of the overall needs of University Athletics. Coach will use reasonable efforts to arrange travel and scheduling by student-athletes in such a manner as to minimize lost classroom time. The Athletic Director or Athletic Director’s and women’s intercollegiate varsity sports programs;designee will be the final authority on scheduling decisions.
(7) Be responsible Coach shall maintain and enforce conduct (both on and off the [field/court]), disciplinary rules and sanctions, fairly and uniformly for all student-athletes in the Program so as to ensure academic and moral integrity while encouraging excellence.
(8) Coach shall adhere to the University’s Athletics department policy and procedures, and shall have team rules which must be approved by the Athletic Director prior to implementation or enforcement.
(9) Coach has authority and responsibility to make decisions as to the hiring, continued employment, job titles, compensation and discharge of assistant coaches and all other personnel employed exclusively for the recruitmentProgram. All such decisions shall be made in consultation with the Athletic Director and are subject to the prior approval of the Athletic Director and will be in accordance with the policies and procedures of the University’s Human Resources guidelines and the University of Texas System.
(10) Coach agrees to conduct annual performance evaluations for all assistant coaches and to ensure that such assistant coaches comply at all times with all Governing Athletic Rules and University Rules.
(11) The employees referred to directly above in numbers (7)-(8) will report directly to and be supervised by Coach.
(12) Coach shall cooperate fully with the University in promoting the Program, the hiring University’s Athletic Fund, the University, the University’s Alumni Association, and other University-affiliated organizations. Such cooperation includes, but is not limited to, (a) attendance and participation at meetings, events, and media outlets of the terms University and conditions University-affiliated organizations; (b) endorsement of employment products and performance of all head coachespromotional services; and (c) personal appearances, with consultation and approval in each case as directed by the Athletic Director.
(13) For the period that Coach is the Head [Men’s/Women’s] [delete if sport is football] __________ [insert title of individual to whom Athletic Director will report], as appropriate;
(8) Maintain responsibility for the supervision and conduct of the head coaches and their activities; this responsibility shall include, without limitation, providing annual evaluations of such head coaches;
(9) Maintain responsibility for hiring and supervising all administrative and other personnel as deemed appropriate for the proper and effective functioning of a major intercollegiate athletic program in the framework of the values and traditions of Coach at the University, consistent with Coach will be required to assist in the University Rules production of and Governing Athletic Rulesto appear on any radio or television show that features the Program, including, but not limited to, any weekly radio and with the supervision and approval of the __________ [insert title of individual to whom Athletic Director will report], as appropriate;
(10) Maintain effective relations with governing boards, associations, conferences, committees, alumni, students, faculty, and staff;
(11) Ensure the fiscal integrity of the athletics program; develop strategic plans and budgets; raise private funds; monitor the expenditure of all funds consistent with all state and federal laws, University Rules, and Governing Athletic Rules;
(12) Participate in existing fundraising programs and develop new fundraising initiatives for the Department of Athletics;
(13) Identify needs for renovation and repairs consistent with principles of equal access and athletics; negotiate and recommend sports marketing, apparel, and shoe sponsorship arrangements;television shows.
(14) Consult regularly Coach will continue to work with the Compliance Coordinator regarding University and use his/her best efforts to continue raising funds necessary to adequately fund the interpretation of applicable rulesProgram. Coach shall allow his/her name, likeness, and bring biographical sketch to be used by the University for fundraising and for any differences of opinion to other reasonable purpose that supports the __________ [insert title of individual to whom Athletic Director will report] for resolution; assist Program or the Compliance Coordinator or other designated individuals in investigating all cases where an alleged violation of a University Rule or Governing Athletic Rule has or may have occurred;University.
(15) Promote Coach will be required to perform such services in connection with summer camps as may be assigned by the University’s commitment to equal opportunity and affirmative action and compliance with Title IX;Athletic Director.
(16) Maintain responsibility for overseeing Coach recognizes that his/her statements about the University and assisting with scheduling athletic events its administrators are often publicized and games, he/she agrees to use his/her best efforts to keep positive and identify and recommend adding constructive in tone any public comments he/she makes about University policies or removing varsity sports teams;actions taken by senior administrators.
(17) Perform If the University enters into agreements with various manufacturers and distributors to provide athletic equipment, supplies, and accessories (“Products”) for the University’s intercollegiate athletics department or the Program, then in accordance with the terms of such agreements, Coach will participate in promotional activities and endorse those Products that are provided for use in the Program. Coach, the assistant coaches, athletes and other personnel of the Program will be required to use the Products in practice, games, and at public appearances in accordance with the terms of any such agreements.
(18) Coach will be a Campus Security Authority (“CSA”) as defined by the Clery Act. As a CSA, Coach will comply with University policies on the reporting of crime statistics and related information to the official designated by the University for the purposes of Clery Act reporting.
(19) In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Coach will be a Responsible Employee as defined by University policies on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct, As a Responsible Employee, Coach will report incidents of sexual misconduct (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) and other inappropriate sexual conduct to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate designee as required by University policy.
(20) Coach shall also perform such other duties and responsibilities that are consistent with his/her position as may be assigned from time to time-to-time by the __________ [insert title of individual to whom Athletic Director will report]Director.

(12) Strive to enhance relationships and communication with all parties that have an association with or interest in the success of the Athletics Department. This includes, but is not limited to: Maintaining an effective communication link with students, faculty, staff, community and staffalumni across the country; and Overseeing public relations, speaking to civic groups, working with media, and interacting with spectators at-large on behalf of the Athletic Department;
(1113) Serve on committees in the Conference and NCAA;
(14) Coordinate with the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative in representing the University at Conference, NCAA, or other national meetings;
(15) Ensure the fiscal integrity of the athletics program; develop strategic plans and budgetsbudgets for approval by the President; raise private funds; monitor the expenditure of all funds consistent with all state and federal laws, University Rules, and Governing Athletic Athletics Rules;
