Staff Assignment Premium Pay. Employees appointed to Fire Staff Assignments shall receive 16.22% in premium pay. EMT pay shall be received if the appointed employee currently has and maintains the certification. If the appointed employee is a paramedic, and filling a paramedic position as designated by the Fire Chief, the paramedic differential will apply provided the appointed employee maintains their paramedic certification. The paramedic will also receive the five hundred dollars ($500) every two (2) years for the continuance of the paramedic certification in accordance with 15.C.2. (Continuing Education/Relicensure), if it is maintained. Employees assigned to the Special Operations Division are eligible for hazardous materials compensation, provided that they meet the qualifications of the hazardous materials special compensation.
