Standby Definitions. 10 1. Non-Mandatory On-Call: Xxxxxxx assigned to a Nurse who has been 11 called off a normally scheduled shift. Xxxxxxx is assigned at the request 12 of the hospital, and typically assigned to volunteers. If there are no 13 volunteers, the Hospital may assign Non-Mandatory Standby (MRS). A 14 Nurse may choose to use PTO if called off a normally scheduled shift or 15 leave as MRS. 17 2. Mandatory On-Call: Mandatory standby is any standby for which a nurse 18 has not volunteered and works in a mandatory call unit as defined in 19 Article 8 Section 4D. A nurse on mandatory standby shall be required to 20 respond within times that vary by units and report to work if called in 21 during standby hours. Scheduled mandatory standby shift rotations may 22 vary by unit. All nurses who wish to be exempt after twenty (20) years of 23 service as an RN at Sky Lakes Medical Center may do so as described 24 in Article 6 Section 1C.
