Mandatory Standby. Unit members on mandatory standby during the lunch period will be paid at the appropriate rate for that period.
Mandatory Standby. The Company will determine the number and location of employees required for standby. Employees when required to be on standby will be paid one (1) hour of their basic wages, at one and one-half (1-1/2) times that rate, for each eight (8) hours of standby coverage. They will be required to carry a communications device and respond promptly.
Mandatory Standby. Mandatory standby is any standby for which 21 a nurse has not volunteered. Mandatory standby is not intended to 22 substitute for adequate staffing of nursing units. The parties agree 23 that long-term, continuous mandatory standby needs to be 24 addressed through staffing adjustments. An Employee assigned on a mandatory basis to Standby Duty shall be guaranteed a minimum of the following, depending upon which time the Employee is so assigned: unless otherwise mutually agreed upon, the Employee shall receive one (1) hour of pay per night for the period between 8:00 A.M Monday and 8:00
A. M Saturday: and two (2) hours pay per day for the period between 8:00 A.M Saturday and 8:00 A.M Monday and for Holidays. The guarantee shall be paid at the Employee’s Straight Time Rate. If an Employee is actually called to work, the Employee shall receive only the greater of the minimum guarantee of pay for the hours actually worked, portal to portal. Assignments outside the Standard Work Day shall only be for bona fide calls and shall not be held over from the Day Shift.
Mandatory Standby. An employee who is placed on standby status by their Supervisor shall be compensated at an hourly rate equal to 0.180 of their base hourly rate of pay for the entire period of such assignment.
Mandatory Standby. Any employee may be placed on “mandatory standby” by the Fire Chief or their sworn designee. Employees on mandatory standby must remain available for immediate response during the designated standby period. The Hospital will use its best efforts to give at least two hours 26 advance notice of shift cancellation and standby status.

A nurse placed on mandatory standby will receive compensation at the rate of standby (per Exhibit A.7.1 above), and will receive payment at one and one-half (1-½) times the hourly base rate for all hours worked while on standby, with at least a two (2) hour minimum. The Hospital will use its best efforts to give at least two hours advance notice of shift cancellation and standby status. If an RN is placed on mandatory standby, pursuant to a mandatory standby rotation list, within forty-eight (48) hours of the start time of the standby, the nurse will be paid double time if called back to work. In such situation, the RN placed on standby may agree with another nurse on the list to replace the nurse for such mandatory standby, and the double time rate will likewise apply if this nurse is actually called back to work. Alternatively, the RN may solicit a volunteer replacement nurse not on the list, who will be paid at the rate appropriate to that nurse if called back to work.
