Step One - Immediate Supervisor. 22. If a solution to the grievance, satisfactory to the employee and the immediate supervisor, is not accomplished by informal discussion, the grievant shall have the right to consult with, and be assisted by, a representative of the grievant’s own choice in this and all succeeding steps of the Grievance Procedure. If the grievant desires to pursue the grievance further, the grievant, or the grievant’s representative, shall within five working days of the informal discussion with immediate supervisor, submit the grievance in writing to his/her immediate supervisor with copies to parties specified in the City’s official Grievance Form. The immediate supervisor shall, within five working days of receipt of the written grievance, respond in writing to the grievance with his/her decision and specifying his/her reasons for concurring with or denying the grievance.
