Common use of STEP RAISE ELIGIBILITY Clause in Contracts

STEP RAISE ELIGIBILITY. 1. An employee shall become eligible for step raises at the start of the payroll period in which the employee’s present classification anniversary occurs. 2. Step raises will become effective as outlined above upon approval of the Police Chief. If such approval is delayed for any reason, the effective date shall be as specified at the time of approval. If delay is a result of administrative failure or clerical error, the effective date shall be the date of original schedule. 3. If a leave of absence without pay is granted to an employee, the time actually worked before and after the leave of absence shall be added together and must total the time specified in Section 1 of this Article before being eligible to receive a step raise. Note: Step raises were not applicable during FY 10/11.
