Common use of Strategy 1: Overdose Prevention Education and Naloxone Clause in Contracts

Strategy 1: Overdose Prevention Education and Naloxone. This strategy provides education to patients, family, friends and supportive allies on how to recognize and respond to an overdose event and provides access to opioid overdose reversal medications. Performing Agency will: 1. Coordinate Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)-approved overdose prevention education trainings for the participating Family Planning clinic site. Require a minimum of 25% of clinic staff attend this training within three months of project start date and 75% of staff receive training within six months of project start date.

Require a minimum of 25% of clinic all relevant staff attend this training within three months of project start date and 75% of staff to receive training within six months of project start datedate using a training curriculum approved by System Agency, such as A Harm Reduction Approach to Overdose Prevention.
