Common use of STRIKE, NO LOCKOUT Clause in Contracts

STRIKE, NO LOCKOUT. During the term of this Agreement and in view of the orderly procedure for settling grievances established hereby, the University agrees that it will not call or authorize, and no officer, official or agent of the University will counsel, procure, support or encourage any lockout of its employees; the Union agrees that it will not call or authorize, and no officer, official or agent of the Union will counsel, procure, support or encourage a strike. The Union further agrees that any strike or other collective action designed to restrict or limit the work or the University's operations by employees would be in violation of this Agreement and if any such strike or collective action takes place involving Union members, the Union will repudiate it forthwith and advise its members to return to work or cease such action.
