Common use of Sub-Committee on Rules of Origin Clause in Contracts

Sub-Committee on Rules of Origin. 1. For the purposes of the effective implementation and operation of this Chapter, the Parties hereby establish a Sub- Committee on Rules of Origin (hereinafter referred to in this Article as "the Sub-Committee"). 2. The functions of the Sub- Committee shall be: (a) reviewing and making appropriate recommendations, as necessary, to the Commission on: (i) the effective, uniform and consistent administration of this Chapter, including its interpretation, application and enhancement of cooperation in this regard; (ii) any amendments to Annex 3, taking into account the amendment of the Harmonized System, as well as Annex 4 proposed by either Party; and (iii) the Operational Procedures referred to in Article 70; (b) considering any other matter related to this Chapter, such as tariff classification and customs valuation related to the determination of origin, calculation of the qualifying value content, and development of an electronic certification system, as the Parties may agree; (c) reporting the findings of the Sub-Committee to the Commission; and (d) other functions assigned by the Commission. 3. The Sub-Committee shall hold meetings at such times and venues or by means, as may be agreed by the Parties.
