Substitute Requests. The District recognizes the Employee as the major individual initiating requests for specific substitutes. When an Employee is in need of a substitute, they may request that a specific substitute be provided by the District. Such requests will be considered by the District and some of the factors which determine the District’s decision in granting such a request are:

Substitute Requests. When an employee is to be absent, he/she may request a specific substitute teacher for his/her classroom duties. The District will attempt to honor the request in consideration of availability of substitutes, in accordance with legal requirements.
Substitute Requests. The District will use a substitute finding service to secure substitute educators to lessen the impact to daily educational operations. This service may be discontinued with a decrease in state or local funding. Consideration for this service and its effectiveness will be reviewed annually by the District and SEA Labor Management. The District will make a concerted effort to minimize the number of subs within a given period. Sub plans must be reviewed by all persons covering a class. Staff may request their desired substitutes in order of preference. The District will attempt to hire the substitute in order of the staff’s preference unless they are unavailable, at which time the next available substitute will be secured. If the District has not received a request for a desired substitute, then the employee forfeits their input on preference. State guidelines will be applied when requesting use of substitutes from our list. Substitutes holding emergency certification may only be assigned work when the list of fully qualified substitutes is exhausted per board policy 5610.

  • Leave Requests All requests for leaves of absence must be in writing.

  • Leave Request 1. The employee will provide notice to the University that includes the anticipated dates of absence and the type of leave the employee wishes to use during the absence. When the request for leave is for medical reasons, the employee will also provide a doctor’s statement to the University.
