Summer Routes. All summer routes will be selected by seniority, before the last scheduled school day in June and will be published not less than three (3) days prior to the selection day. Alternate positions will be posted and selected at the same time.
Summer Routes. A. Summer Routes fall outside of the “school year,” and are defined as being scheduled for two (2) or more days in duration.
B. Those employees desiring to participate in summer routes will be given an opportunity to sign up prior to the end of the school year, and assignments shall be based on seniority, subject to the applicable provisions outlined in Section 11.6, “Driving Routes.”
Summer Routes. Drivers who want to work summer school routes must sign up before the last Friday in May. Summer routes will be built, bid and awarded according to Section 29.2.2. If summer routes increase or decrease by thirty (30) minutes or more for at least five (5) days, the route will be rebid on by seniority within one workday. Summer route vacancy calling will happen each morning and the dispatcher will move on to the next person by seniority if a driver does not answer. Only one telephone number per driver will be called. It is the driver’s responsibility to keep the current phone number up to date. The dispatcher will be responsible for making work assignments and notifying substitutes.
Summer Routes. Known summer routes will be posted no later than five (5) days prior to the end of the school year, drivers/monitors shall have five (5) days, from the day of posting, to sign for a summer route. Said summer routes shall be awarded according to classification seniority. (example: driver is awarded a drivers position, monitor is awarded a monitor position) Drivers/monitors may not take off their summer route for any other employment opportunities, including, but not limited to field trips. In the event a driver/monitor is absent due to illness or an emergency, that position shall be offered to the next senior driver/monitor on the original bid list that has not been awarded a summer route. If a driver/monitor that has been awarded a summer route and then requests time off, other than illness or emergency leave, that summer route will then be awarded to the next senior driver/monitor on the original bid list.
Summer Routes. The scheduled act of picking-up and/or delivering students to one or more destinations for regular education and/or special education purposes during the summer term as defined by District # 00 xxx Xxxxxxxx # 000.
a. Additional Summer Assignments:
1. Drop-off and/or pick-up of buses and/or driver education vehicles 2. Painting, washing, and cleaning of buses and/or vans.
Summer Routes. All Summer transportation routes that are to be offered to District Bus Drivers shall be posted on the bulletin board in the break room and shall be assigned to interested Bus Drivers in seniority order.
Summer Routes. 18:4.1 The cut-off date for summer routes will be the Friday before the last full week of district school. If routes are established after this date that exceed the hours for those already chosen, these new routes will be posted, and drivers by seniority may change their chosen routes.
Summer Routes. Summer routes are to be bid separately before the beginning of summer school in accordance with the bidding procedure for regular school year routes.
Summer Routes. All summer routes will be offered to Category A drivers first. If Category A drivers have been exhausted, then drivers in Category B then Category C will be awarded the summer route. All summer routes will be posted for bid and awarded by seniority to employees. in good standing. (In good standing is defined as, “If the employee has one suspension within the current fiscal year July 1 – June 30,” he/she cannot apply.) Employees within each employee job title will have first right in filling the assignment. If there are no applicants from among the monitors, all drivers will receive consideration in filling the position after all bus driving vacancies have been filled, by seniority. Employees will receive the pay appropriate for the job title to which they are assigned.
a. Summer bid sheets must be completed in their entirety. Missing or inaccurate information will result in a forfeited bid.
b. Employees who bid on summer routes must be actively working their full-base schedule at the time the summer route is awarded.
c. In the event any new run is added after the initial bidding is completed, all employees will receive a Parentlink indicating that additional route(s) are available for bid. Message will indicate the bidding procedures. Route will be awarded to the most senior employee who has not been awarded a summer run.
d. Employees will be permitted to bid on more than one (1) summer route as long as any additional assignment does not conflict with another assignment.
e. An employee who calls off from work during their summer bid for other than illness will not be permitted to bid on a summer route the following year. An employee is limited to two (2) days out of work for illness and must present a doctor’s note upon return to work. No leaves will be taken during summer runs.
