Emergency Trips. Any trip which may be needed and notification to the transportation department is less than two (2) days prior to departure.
Emergency Trips. 1. An emergency trip will be defined as a request received by the district’s transportation department with less than one am or pm bus run time period. The Transportation Supervisor may appoint any bargaining unit member to drive this type of a trip at the extra run rate of pay.

Emergency Trips. Emergency trips are those received too late to be posted for two (2) days. Emergency trips will be announced over the radio and will be awarded to the senior driver who calls in with the least amount of trips recorded on their emergency trip sheet. If no regular driver calls in, the trip will be assigned to a substitute.

When an emergency trip is cancelled by the driver, or a new trip is added as an “add on trip” during Winter Break or Spring Break, the “Emergency List” shall be the standard bidding list and procedure used when replacing that driver and when covering “add on trips” and a copy of the report detailing the change shall be provided to AFSCME.

Every effort will be made to ensure that most senior driver that is available will be offered the trip. If the Association asks for a copy of a trip request, the Transportation office shall provide it.

The rotation list will not change until the next scheduled field trip meeting.
