Common use of Supervisors Working Clause in Contracts

Supervisors Working. Supervisors shall not perform work normally assigned to the Bargaining Unit at any time except to: instruct an employee in the work of his classification; relieve in emergency involving potential hazard to an employee; and relieve in emergency to prevent equipment or installation damage. Demonstration of or instruction in class duties is not intended to relieve the employee of the responsibility for actual performance of assigned tasks.

When production or maintenance difficulties are encountered, or when bargaining unit employees are not available, provided such work shall not displace any time except to: instruct an employee in bargaining unit employee, or 3. In situations involving the work trial, trouble-shooting or testing of his classification; relieve in emergency involving potential hazard to an employee; and relieve in emergency to prevent tools, equipment or installation damage.
