Daily Absence. If notice of intended absence is given at least two (2) hours prior to starting time, supervisors will not work until after the following steps have been taken: First – Package center night employees in the respective areas who are interested in 6th and/or 7th day work will submit their names and telephone numbers to their center managers. Second – Day off employees in the center where the need occurs will be called in seniority order, provided they have submitted their names and telephone numbers as aforesaid. After the center list has been exhausted, then, Third – Day off employees in the building where the need occurs will be called in seniority order, provided they have submitted their names and telephone numbers as aforesaid. After the building list has been exhausted, then, Fourth – Day off employees in the area where the need occurs will be called in seniority order, provided they have submitted their names and telephone numbers as aforesaid. Fifth – It is the obligation of the employees to advise their center managers in writing, of any change in telephone numbers. Sixth – In the event an employee is called by another center in the area and refuses to work on his/her night off and has previously refused to do so, his/her name will be dropped from the area list until otherwise mutually agreed by the Company and the Union, or unless the employee has notified his/her manager prior to his/her day off that he will not be available for 6th and/or 7th day work in the area in that particular work week.

Daily Absence. A. Sick Leave. All bargaining unit members shall be allowed sick leave privileges listed below. Privileges for part-time employees shall be prorated. (1) At the beginning of each school year, teachers who have completed their first day of employment will be credited with twelve (12) days of sick leave allowance. Three (3) of the twelve (12) days can be used for personal business or the entire twelve (12) days can be used for absences caused by sickness and physical disability. Additional personal business days which will be charged to accumulated sick days may be granted at the discretion of the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services whose decision is not grievable. (2) Sick days may be accumulated to a total of one hundred fifty (150) days. Any sick days lost because of the limit on accumulation stated in this paragraph shall be credited to the Master Sick Bank set forth in Article XII of this Agreement. (3) If an employee leaves the District prior to the end of the school year, the employee will reimburse the District for any used, unearned sick days on a pro-rata basis, e.g., one (1) sick day for each month worked. (4) All requests for sick leave must be submitted to the Automated Guest Teacher Services. Proof of illness signed by a physician shall not be required except under the following circumstances: (a) A teacher demonstrating a pattern of sick leave abuse may be notified that he/she will be required to furnish proof of illness signed by a physician for any subsequent use of sick leave during the current school year. Notification of such requirement shall be made in writing to the teacher by the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services or a designated central office administrator. (b) In the event of absence of a teacher or illness in excess of five (5) consecutive working days, the Board may, at its expense, require an examination by an independent physician. (5) Any teacher whose personal illness extends beyond the period compensated by accrued sick leave and/or sick bank, will be granted a leave of absence without pay or fringe benefits or increment for such time as is necessary for complete recovery, to a maximum of one year. (6) Upon return from the leave, a NTPSM may be assigned to the same or similar position, providing a vacancy exists. (7) Upon written request, such leave may be extended for one year. Daily AbsenceAn employee who finds it necessary to be absent from duty shall post his/her absence in the district’s absence management system no later than 5:30 a.m. of the day for secondary teachers, and for elementary teachers the notification needs to be no later than 6:30 a.m. of the day. An employee shall not make personal arrangements for a substitute or for the pay of the substitute.   • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Reporting Absences Employees are responsible for reporting to work on time on each scheduled work day. When an Employee is absent from work, they will notify their Supervisor or designate by telephone before the beginning of the work period or as soon as practicable. The Employee shall inform their Supervisor or designate of the reason for the absence, the expected time of their return to work and a telephone number where they may be reached in their absence.

  • SICKNESS ABSENCE Absence Due to Sickness or Quarantine Prior to the Eighth Full Calendar Day of Absence 29.01 An employee having six (6) months net credited service, or more, who is absent on account of sickness or quarantine, shall be paid for continuous absence prior to the eighth full calendar day of such absence, as follows: (a) An employee with six (6) months but less than two (2) years net credited service shall be paid for that part of the absence in excess of four (4) consecutive half tours. (b) An employee with two (2) but less than four (4) years net credited service shall be paid for that part of the absence in excess of two (2) consecutive half tours. (c) In the determination of pay treatment in Subsections 29.01 (a) and (b), a return to work not exceeding two (2) half tours shall not be considered to have interrupted the continuity of the absence, nor the consecutiveness of the half tours of absence. However, for purposes of determining the eighth full calendar day of absence, any return to work shall interrupt the continuity of an absence. (d) An employee with four (4) or more years net credited service shall be paid for the full absence. (e) An employee is not entitled to any pay or other benefit provided under this Article for any day in which she is in receipt of, or entitled to, any pay or other benefit under any other provision of this Agreement. 29.02 Upon the eighth full calendar day of an absence covered under Section 29.01, such an absence shall be treated in accordance with applicable Company practices currently in effect, or as amended from time to time following notification to the Union.

  • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time.   • STAFF ABSENCE a) When CONTRACTOR is an NPS and CONTRACTOR’s classroom teacher is absent, CONTRACTOR shall provide an appropriately credentialed substitute teacher in the absent teacher’s classroom in accordance with California Education Code section 56061. CONTRACTOR shall provide to LEA documentation of substitute coverage on LEA substitute teacher log. Substitute teachers shall remain with their assigned class during all instructional time. XXX shall not be responsible for payment for instruction and/or services when an appropriately credentialed substitute teacher is not provided. If a teacher is absent and a non-qualified substitute has been provided, CONTRACTOR will notify the LEA immediately. The LEA will determine how to address the denial of FAPE. b) When CONTRACTOR is a NPA and/or related services provider, and CONTRACTOR’s service provider is absent, CONTRACTOR shall provide a qualified (as defined in section eight (8) of this Master Contract and as determined by LEA) substitute, unless XXX provides appropriate coverage in lieu of CONTRACTOR’s service providers. XXX will not pay for services unless a qualified substitute is provided and/or CONTRACTOR provides a mutually agreed upon plan evidencing the provision of “make-up” services by a qualified service provider within thirty (30) calendar days from the date on which the services should have been provided. Provider shall notify XXX immediately of the development of the plan for any missed services that include: 5 or more consecutive days of specialized academic instruction (SAI) or more than 2 weeks of missed related services. CONTRACTOR shall not “bank” or “carry over” make-up service hours under any circumstances, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by CONTRACTOR and XXX.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Unauthorized Absence An unauthorized absence from the work site or failure to report for duty after a leave request has been disapproved, revoked, or canceled by the appointing authority, or at the expiration of a leave, shall be without pay. Such absence may also be grounds for disciplinary action.

  • Notification of Absence A unit member shall contact the office of the division xxxx whenever there is a need to be absent and at least thirty (30) minutes prior to missing any work assignment. Should circumstances prohibit this notification, the unit member shall notify the division office in writing within one week of returning to work, providing the reasons why the advance notification was not given.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).
