Common use of Surfacing and Pointing Clause in Contracts

Surfacing and Pointing. Joints on the face of all stone masonry exposed to view shall be neatly finished. The mortar in the joints of the stone masonry shall first be removed to a depth of three (3) cm. The joint shall then be cleaned thoroughly with a wire brush of all loose materials and filled with cement mortar with a mix proportion of one port-land cement and two part of sand by volume (1:2). The surface of the face stone shall be cleaned of all mortar upon completion of the finishing operation.
