Common use of Suspension by Teachers Clause in Contracts

Suspension by Teachers. A teacher may suspend a student from his/her class for the day of the suspension and the day following, for offenses enumerated in section 48900 of the Education Code, and shall report the suspension to the principal and send the student to the principal/designee for appropriate action. The teacher shall notify the parent and participate in the subsequent parent conference.

Suspension by Teachers. A teacher may suspend a student from his/her class for the day 15 of the suspension and the day following, for offenses enumerated in section Section 48900 of the Education Code, 16 and shall immediately report the suspension to the principal and send the student to the principal/designee 17 for appropriate action. The teacher must complete the notice of suspension and other appropriate 18 paperwork. Pursuant to Education Code section 48910, before the following school day, the teacher shall notify 19 contact the student’s parent and participate in or guardian to attend a parent/teacher conference regarding the subsequent parent conferencesuspension.
