Common use of Suspension of An Employee During Investigation Clause in Contracts

Suspension of An Employee During Investigation. ‌ If the Corporation indefinitely suspends an employee while conducting an investigation for any offence, action to reinstate pending further investigation, or to discharge, or to impose a definite period of suspension, must be taken within ten (10) days. This period of indefinite suspension shall be with pay. If a final decision by the Corporation is not taken within the ten (10) days, the employee will remain on the payroll until the arbitrator's final decision on the grievance has been taken but the employee may be subject to further discipline for similar or other actions of misconduct.
