Common use of Tandem Switching Traffic Clause in Contracts

Tandem Switching Traffic. The Parties will provide tandem switching for traffic between the Parties' end offices subtending each other's access tandem, as well as for traffic between either Party's end- users and any third party which is interconnected to the other Party's access tandems as follows: 3.3.1 The originating Party will compensate the tandem Party for each minute of originated tandem switched traffic which terminates to third party (e.g., other CLEC, ILEC, or wireless service provider). The applicable rate for this charge is the tandem transiting charge identified in Appendix A. 3.3.2 The originating Party also assumes responsibility for compensation to the company which terminates the call. 3.3.3 The Parties agree to enter into their own agreements with third-party providers. In the event that NEN sends traffic through GTE’s network to a third-party provider with whom NEN does not have a traffic interexchange agreement, then NEN agrees to indemnify GTE for any termination charges rendered by a third-party provider for such traffic.
