Teachers' Rights of Recall. a. When a position on the teaching staff of the district becomes available, the Board shall, notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement, first offer recall to the available teacher who has the most seniority among those laid off pursuant to this article, provided that the teacher possesses the necessary qualifications for the available position. If that teacher declines the recall, the teacher with the next greatest seniority and the necessary qualification shall be recalled, and the process shall be repeated until the position is filled. All positions shall be filled in this manner while there are remaining teachers who have been laid off pursuant to this article, and who retain recall rights.
