Rights of Stewards. When it is necessary for a xxxxxxx to leave his/her work area to investigate and adjust grievances or to investigate a specific problem to determine whether to file a grievance, the xxxxxxx shall request permission from the immediate supervisor and such request shall not be unreasonably denied. In the event the duties require the xxxxxxx leave the work area and enter another area within the installation or post office, the xxxxxxx must also receive permission from the supervisor from the other area he/she wishes to enter and such request shall not be unreasonably denied. The xxxxxxx, chief xxxxxxx or other Union representative prop- erly certified in accordance with Section 2 above may request and shall obtain access through the appropriate supervisor to review the documents, files and other records necessary for processing a grievance or determining if a grievance exists and shall have the right to interview the aggrieved employee(s), supervisors and witnesses during working hours. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. While serving as a xxxxxxx or chief xxxxxxx, an employee may not be involuntarily transferred to another tour, to another station or branch of the particular post office or to another independent post office or installation unless there is no job for which the employee is qualified on such tour, or in such sta- tion or branch, or post office. If an employee requests a xxxxxxx or Union representative to be present during the course of an interrogation by the Inspection Service, such request will be granted. All polygraph tests will continue to be on a voluntary basis.

Rights of Stewards.
8:01 The Agency recognizes the Union’s right to select Stewards to represent employees.
8:02 Union officers may be entitled to leave their work during working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement specifically related to attendance at meetings with the Employer, participation in negotiations.
8:03 When it is necessary for a Xxxxxxx to deal with the Employer involving a grievance during working hours, no deduction in salary shall be made from the Xxxxxxx concerned, provided that the Xxxxxxx has obtained approval from their supervisor for the time required to deal with the grievance. On resuming their duties, the Xxxxxxx and employee shall notify their supervisor.
(a) The Union shall notify the Chief Executive Officer in writing of the name of its officers and stewards and the Agency shall be required to recognize only these officers and stewards of whom it has notice.
(b) The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of the names of its representatives for the Safety and Health Committee and the Labour Management Committee and any other committee agreed to between the parties, and further will provide updates as required.
Rights of Stewards. The right of stewards or officers to leave their work without loss of pay to investigate grievances is granted on the following conditions:
i) the xxxxxxx or officer will provide the supervisor with written notice as far in advance of the absence as possible.
ii) the xxxxxxx or officer shall obtain permission of the immediate supervisor before leaving work, such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld;
iii) the time off from work shall be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances and shall be limited to the time required for a meeting with the grievor(s) to obtain the relevant facts surrounding the grievance (to a maximum of thirty
