Temporary Reduction Of Hours. (a) A permanent full-time or part-time Employee, may request to temporarily reduce her hours of work for a period of up to one year provided they are not on probation or trial, or in a temporary position. The request may be approved subject to operational considerations. An extension of up to one additional year may be granted. Upon mutual agreement between the Employee and the Employer, further extensions may be granted. The Employee will revert to their previous hours of work upon completion of the approved period. (b) Any employee wishing to make such request shall do so in writing to the Employer, giving at least twenty-eight (28) days notice prior to the time at which reduction is requested.
