Reduction of Hours. The Employer shall not reduce the weekly hours of work of an employee for the purpose of replacing such hours with another employee at a lower hourly rate of pay.
Reduction of Hours. If it is necessary to reduce the hours of a part-time position such that the incumbent of the position is no longer eligible to receive the full Employer's insurance contribution or is no longer eligible to participate in the Employer's insurance program, the Appointing Authority shall request volunteers for the position from among part-time employees in the same class, employment condition, and work area/principal place of employment. If one or more employees volunteer for the position, the most senior qualified volunteer shall be offered the position. If there are no volunteers, the least senior qualified employee in the same class, employment condition, and work area/principal place of employment shall be assigned to the position.
Reduction of Hours. 3.6.1 Regular employees shall not have their hours arbitrarily reduced for the purpose of increasing the working hours of regular part-time employees or assigning such hours to new hires or extra employees.
Reduction of Hours. (a) Reduction in hours shall be based on seniority, as per Article 4.10, providing that affected employees have the ability and training to perform the work that is available, and that licensing standards can be maintained.
(b) Any regular employee offered a reduction of hours shall be given two (2) weeks notice of the reduction.
(c) Any regular employee offered a reduction of hours shall have the right to choose layoff as per Article 4.13.
Reduction of Hours. Reduction of hours will take place by reverse seniority. Exception: teachers may have their hours of service reduced for one class per week without regard to seniority. Positions will be eliminated in reverse seniority order. The number of hours assigned to a teacher at the beginning of the school year will be an average of the teacher’s fall and spring hours of the previous year.
Reduction of Hours. A reduction of hours occurs whenever employees’ regularly scheduled number of work hours per week is reduced for economic or programmatic needs.
a. The Association and employees working in any position being considered for reduction of hours shall be given notification prior to the final decision being made.
b. In no case shall a reduction of the unit member’s work hours take effect until the District gives ten days written notice to the affected employee.
c. The District may choose to reduce hours to all employees working within a position in place of laying employees off.
1) Seniority would not apply in this case.
2) If hours were reduced “across the board” in a position, the District will replace reduced hours for those affected employees, in order of seniority, prior to hiring any new employees into positions where cuts occurred for a period of two years. Except in situations where a student(s) requires one on one educational assistant services or when the District needs additional labor hours at specific times and increasing hours would not accommodate student needs.
Reduction of Hours. Upon the request of an employee and with the written approval of the Appointing Authority and the Association, an employee may reduce his/her hours from full-time or otherwise change his/her employment condition to less than full-time, and may subsequently change his/her hours back to full-time with the written approval of his/her Appointing Authority. Such transactions shall not constitute a layoff or transfer pursuant to this Article.
Reduction of Hours. Where there has been a reduction of hours worked in a store of more than twenty percent (20%), part-time employees whose hours have been reduced significantly, will be granted a transfer to another store in the province area in order to maximize their hours under the following conditions:
1. The decrease in hours worked shall be measured over a period of eight (8) consecutive weeks, compared to the same time period in the previous year.
2. In developing a solution, the Employer and the Union shall seek to minimize the impact of part-time employees transferring to other stores in the province. An employee will not transfer to a store or department which has experienced a similar reduction of hours.
Reduction of Hours. Hours of part-time Pharmacists shall not be reduced because of the hiring of additional part-time Pharmacists, so long as the remaining part-time staff is willing to work the required shifts.
Reduction of Hours. The Employer, at its discretion and with the 22 consent of the affected nurse, may permanently decrease the regularly 23 scheduled hours per week of an established regular position by no more than 24 twelve (12) hours per week, provided that the resulting positions must be 25 consistent with defined work days under this Agreement. This alteration of 26 position shall not occur more than one (1) time per year and not within three (3) 27 months of a nurse filling such position, without the consent of the Association. 28
