Common use of Terms of Appointment and Appointment Renewals for Adjunct Faculty Clause in Contracts

Terms of Appointment and Appointment Renewals for Adjunct Faculty. (i) Adjunct Faculty appointments shall be for a maximum of three years. (ii) Adjunct Faculty appointments may be renewed. Such renewals shall be made by the President, following a review and recommendation from the Vice- President, Academic and Research. (iii) Adjunct Faculty are not members of the Bargaining Unit, and are not covered by this Collective Agreement except for Clause 16.12 and the following Articles: 6 – No Discrimination, 8 – Academic Freedom and Responsibility, 13 – Rights Duties and Responsibilities of Faculty Members (as appropriate), 20 – Grievance and Arbitration, (but only insofar as a grievance or arbitration is to enforce the provisions of Clause 16.12), 21 – Official Personal Files, 27 – Copyrights and Patents 29 – Sexual Harassment, and 38 – Technology.
