The Chair of the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee shall elect a Chair and a Deputy Chair among the Members for a period of 3 years, which may be renewed. The Chair shall sign the contracts with the Consortium Manager, the Technical Manager, Legal Counsel and other consultants and experts on behalf of the other Members, if the contract is approved as to form and substance by the Steering Committee. The Chair can be requested to withdraw from his/her position during a term by a Qualified Majority of the Steering Committee or may resign during the term, in which case the Chair will be replaced by the Deputy Chair until a new Chair is elected at the next Steering Committee. The Chair and Deputy Chair shall not be remunerated for their activities or costs by the Consortium.
