The Notice Period. The Employer may: (a) make payment in lieu of the above notice period to an Employee. (b) may require an Employee work out part of the notice period and make a payment for the remainder of the notice period. (c) require the Employee to undertake alternative duties during the notice period. (d) place an Employee on garden leave for all or part of their notice period, provided the employee is paid for this period. During a period of garden leave, the Employer may direct an employee to: i. not attend the workplace.
