Common use of Third Shift Clause in Contracts

Third Shift. An employee assigned to work on a shift beginning between the hours of 9:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M. will be considered to be on third (3rd) shift. The pay rate for an employee assigned third (3rd) shift will be his/her base hourly rate of pay plus fifteen (15%) percent. An employee who is regularly assigned to the third (3rd) shift will have all compensable time paid at the higher rate of pay.
