Common use of Transfer of Service and Seniority Clause in Contracts

Transfer of Service and Seniority. Effective the date of ratification of this agreement, an employee whose status is changed from full-time to part-time shall receive credit for his/her full service and seniority. An employee whose status is changed from part-time to full-time shall receive credit for seniority and service on the basis of one (1) year equals 1725 hours worked, and will be enrolled in the employee benefit plans subject to meeting any waiting period or other requirements of those plans. Employees transferred out of the bargaining unit and who are subsequently transferred back into the bargaining unit continue to accumulate seniority the same as if they had never been transferred out of the bargaining unit for a maximum period of no longer than twelve (12) calendar months.
