Transit Passes Clause Samples
The Transit Passes clause establishes the terms under which access passes or permits are provided for transportation purposes, such as for employees or contractors needing to use public transit as part of their work. Typically, this clause outlines eligibility criteria, the process for obtaining and returning passes, and any restrictions on their use, such as prohibiting transfer to unauthorized individuals. Its core function is to ensure that transit passes are distributed and used appropriately, preventing misuse and clarifying responsibilities related to their issuance and return.
Transit Passes. SFMTA shall provide Operators, their spouses and legally dependent children under nineteen (19) years of age who are living with the Operator with system passes. Retired employees shall be provided with system passes for the remainder of their lives. Upon separation other than retirement, SFMTA may direct that the employee's final paycheck be held until such pass(es) have been properly returned.
Transit Passes. The City will provide transit passes consistent with SMC 4.20.370.
Transit Passes a. The spouse and dependent children of regular employees shall receive a Transit Pass for free transportation over all lines operated by the District. The pass(es) will be issued within fifteen (15) days following the employee’s submission of the required application form(s).
Transit Passes. 108. Part-Time Operators shall be eligible for transit passes on the same basis as Full- Time Operators pursuant to Section 4.3.
Transit Passes. 108. Provided Part-Time Operators properly display their SFMTA identification card, SFMTA will provide free transportation for the employee only on SFMTA lines during normal hours of operation.
Transit Passes. Effective January 1, 2008, the City agrees to increase the current $15/month transit pass subsidy by $15/month for a total transit pass subsidy of $30/month. Effective January 1, 2009, the City agrees to increase the transit pass subsidy to an amount equal to the current monthly rate of a “one-zone” peak Puget Pass.

Transit Passes a) Effective ratification, the Corporation shall afford employees a subsidy equivalent of 50% off of a regular monthly transit pass. Such subsidy will be deemed a taxable benefit.
b) Permits for such purpose shall be issued by the Corporation upon completion of an election form by the employee and its use is explicitly intended for the employee only.
Transit Passes. 143. Part-Time Operators shall be eligible for transit passes on the same basis as Full- Time Operators pursuant to Section 4.3. 144. In the event a Part-Time Operator needs a replacement identification card, SFMTA shall charge the Part-Time Operator a ten-dollar ($10) fee to replace the identification card. SFMTA may waive the fee if the Part-Time Operator produces verifiable proof satisfactory to the SFMTA that the loss or destruction was beyond the Part-Time Operator’s control.
Transit Passes. The Employer agrees to provide tax-free transit passes to BFT Employees, their spouses, their legal dependents and to retired BFT Employees, and their spouses. For the purposes of this section, the term “dependent” shall include unmarried dependent children up to age nineteen (19), full-time students up to age twenty-three (23), and children with mental and physical disabilities living at home. If evidence indicates an unauthorized person is using Employee, spouse or dependent passes, that pass shall be surrendered as requested by BFT management. All passes are to be returned to the Employer and shall no longer be valid if employment terminates.
