TRENCH SAFETY. In accordance with the California Labor Code, where the work will involve trenches five feet or more in depth and the estimated or bid cost of excavation is in excess of $25,000, the Contractor shall submit to and receive from the City of Palo Alto, or its designee, the acceptance of a detailed plan showing design of shoring, bracing, sloping, or other provisions to be made for worker protection from the hazards of caving ground. Such plan shall be submitted at least five (5) days before the Contractor intends to begin work on the trenches. If such plan varies from the shoring system standards established by the Construction Safety Orders of the State of California Division of Industrial Safety, the plan shall be prepared by a registered civil or structural engineer. The Contractor shall not use shoring, sloping, or protective systems less effective than that required by the Construction Safety Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety. The City shall not be responsible or liable for the safety of such trenching or trenching plans. Whenever the work called for on these plans or contract documents involves the construction of a pipeline, sewer, sewage disposal system, boring and jacking pits, or similar trenches or excavations, which are five feet or deeper, bidder shall include as a bid item, the cost of design and construction of adequate sheeting, shoring, and bracing, or equivalent method, for the protection of life or limb, which shall conform to applicable safety orders.

TRENCH SAFETY. All trenches shall be provided with adequate safety systems as required by chapter 49.17 RCW and WAC 000-000-000 and -655. The Contractor is responsible for providing the competent person and registered professional engineer required by WAC 000- 000-000 and -655.
TRENCH SAFETY. The Contractor must comply with Texas law regarding trench excavation exceeding five feet in depth and in accordance with the following items:
TRENCH SAFETY. In the performance of this contract, Contractor may be requested to supply cost estimates for trench excavation to a depth exceeding five feet. Section 553.62, F.S., incorpo- rates the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's excavation safety standards, 29 CFR s. 1926.650 Subpart P, as the standard. Contractor shall separately estimate the cost of compliance with those standards as required by Section 553.63, F.S. Such estimate shall be based on the linear feet of trench to be excavated and shall include written assurance of compliance with those stand- ards and any applicable special shoring requirements. •
TRENCH SAFETY. For all trenches to be made in connection with the work, CONTRACTOR shall submit a detailed plan showing the design of shoring, bracing, sloping or other provisions to be made for worker protection from the hazard of caving ground during the excavation of such trenches. If such plan varies from the shoring system standards, a registered civil or structural engineer shall prepare the plan. The plan shall be reviewed, and must receive approval as adequate to protect worker safety, by the AGENCY or by a registered civil or structural engineer employed by the AGENCY, in advance of excavation. The shoring, sloping, or protective system must be at least as effective as that required by the Construction Safety Orders. See California Labor Code Section 6705.
TRENCH SAFETY. This Section 32 shall be applicable if any part of the work includes trenching. The Contractor must comply with Texas law regarding trench excavation if any trench exceeding five feet in depth is part of the work, and in accordance with the following items:

TRENCH SAFETY. CONTRACTOR shall comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to Trench Safety. CONTRACTOR shall at all times maintain suitable barricades, warning devices, trench shoring, bracing, and covers, and other protective measures as deemed appropriate by the ENGINEER, which measures shall provide only the highest suitable level of protection to all workers, inspectors, and the general public. Attention is directed to the provisions of Section 8- 6, "Public Convenience," Section 8-7, "Public Safety," and Section 8-9, "Preservation of Property."
