Common use of Trial Clause in Contracts

Trial. a) A Regular Employee who moves from one classification to another shall be placed on trial for a period of 520 hours (Schedule A) or 455 hours (Schedule B) worked. Conditional on satisfactory service, upon successful completion of the trial period, the Employee shall be considered permanent in the position. b) In the event the successful applicant proves unsatisfactory in the position during the trial period, is unable to perform the duties of the new job classification, or if the Employee wishes to return to the previous position, the Employee shall be returned to the Employee's former position, except in the case of a bump in which case the Employee shall be laid off. c) Any other Employee promoted or transferred because of the rearrangement of positions shall also be returned to the Employee's former position without loss of seniority and wage.
