Union Assessments. In recognition of AFSCME Local 7's services to the bargaining unit and to promote harmonious and stable relationships between the bargaining unit and the City, employees within the bargaining unit shall, within thirty (30) days of this agreement, or their date of promotion, whichever is later, either become members of AFSCME Local 7 or share in the financial support of AFSCME Local 7 by paying to Local 7 a service fee not to exceed the amount of dues uniformly required of members of Local 7.
