Union Membership Dues. If the Employee desires to voluntarily join the GEU, the Employee shall complete the payroll deduction authorization/membership card, check the membership box and submit it to the Union office.

Union Membership Dues. 6:01 The Employer agrees to deduct all union dues, initiation fees and/or assessments from the pay of each bargaining unit employee, as directed by the Union, in writing, and to remit all such monies so deducted to the Union, as directed by the Union, in writing. 6:02 All monies deducted in accordance with this Article shall be forwarded to the Treasurer of the Union no later than the seventh (7th) day following the month for which said deductions apply, together with a list of employees from whom deductions were made and the amount of each deduction. Such list shall also contain the names of any newly hired employees and the names of any employees terminated since the previous list was provided. Within thirty (30) days of the ratification of this agreement, the Employer shall provide the union with a list of all bargaining unit employees and their work location. 6:03 Provided the Employer follows the written direction given by the Union, the Union shall indemnify and save harmless the Employer from any claim by an employee arising from the deduction and remittance of union dues, fees and/or assessments. 6:04 Income tax (T-4) slips shall reflect the total amount of union dues deducted/paid by each bargaining unit employee.

Union Membership Dues. No later than thirty (30) calendar days following the effective date of this Agreement, all present employees must, as a condition of continued employment, maintain their membership in good standing in the Union. “In good standing,” for the purposes of this Agreement is defined as the tendering of periodic Union dues. All employees hired after the effective date of this Agreement shall be or become and remain members of the Union in good standing no later than thirty (30) calendar days following the first day of their Employment in accordance with the provisions of Section 8 of the National Labor Relations Act, as amended.

Union Membership Dues. ‌‌ 5.01 The Union agrees there will be no solicitation for membership, collection of dues, or other Union activities on the premises of the Home, except as specifically permitted by this Agreement or in writing by the Home. 5.02 It is agreed that an employee may exercise or refrain from exercising his right to become a member of the Union or may cease to be a member of the Union, but all bargaining unit employees shall pay union dues as though they were members of the Union. 5.03 As a condition of employment for all employees who have completed the probationary period, the Home will deduct from each biweekly pay an amount equivalent to the regular monthly Union dues, as authorized from time to time by the Union. 5.04 The Home agrees to remit the total amount of such deductions, by cheque, along with a list of employees’ names, addresses, and phone numbers, for whom deductions were made, to CUPE National not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month for which the deductions were made. A copy of this list shall also be forwarded to the Secretary of Local 4824. 5.05 It is expressly understood and agreed that the Union will save the Employer harmless and indemnify the Employer for any claim arising pursuant to any deduction made hereunder. The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of any change in the amount of Union dues thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of such change. 5.06 The Employer shall introduce a new employee to the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Representative at an appropriate time and provide the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ an opportunity to meet with the new employee for a period of no more than 15 minutes to advise the new employee of his/her rights and obligations under the terms of the Collective Agreement and to provide a copy of that Agreement. The Employer will provide sufficient copies to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The Employer shall add to their orientation package a list of current executive members as updated and prepared by the Union.

Union Membership Dues. As a condition of continued employment, all Adjunct Faculty covered by this Agreement and those hired on or after its effective date shall, within thirty-one (31) days following the first date for which they are on payroll, either become a member of the Union and pay regular monthly dues thereto or in lieu thereof shall pay an agency fee to the Union each month. This amount shall be established by the Union as a percentage of income for work assigned pursuant to this Agreement, including work for credit-earning courses or laboratories, required or approved meetings and trainings, and other assignments or projects assigned under this Agreement. As authorized by federal labor law, Adjunct Faculty Members who object to union membership on religious grounds are required to make charitable contributions equal to monthly dues to one of the following nonreligious charitable organizations as agreed to by the Union and University: Canal Alliance, Center for Domestic Peace, and Homeward Bound.

Union Membership Dues. (a) The Employer will deduct Union dues from the pay of each Employee in the Bargaining Unit, in the amount specified in writing by the Union, and shall remit same to the Union as soon as practicable and not later than 10 Working Days following the pay period end date. (b) When the amounts specified under 5.01(a) are remitted, the Employer will inform the Union in writing of the names of Employees from whose pay deductions for Union dues have been made and the amount of dues deducted from each Employee’s pay. (c) The Union shall advise the University in writing at least 30 days in advance of any change in the amount its Union dues. It is agreed that the rate structure of the dues requested shall not require deductions which are incompatible with the University’s payroll system. (d) The Union shall indemnify and save the University harmless from any claims or any liability arising from or as a result of the deduction or non-deduction of Union dues. (e) Employees shall become and remain members of the Union.
