Common use of Unique Entity Identifier Requirements Clause in Contracts

Unique Entity Identifier Requirements. If the grant award recipient is authorized to make subawards under this award, then the grantee: i. Must notify potential subrecipients that no entity (see definitions below) may receive a subaward from the grant award recipient until the entity has provided its unique entity identifier to the grantee. ii. May not make a subaward to an entity unless the entity has provided its Unique Entity Identifier to the grantee. Subrecipients are not required to obtain an active XXX registration, but must obtain a Unique Entity Identifier. NOTE: At some point, the DUNS Number will be replaced by a new, non-proprietary identifier requested in and assigned by XXX.xxx. This new identifier is being called the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), or the Entity ID. Users should continue using the DUNS Number in UEI fields until further notice.
