Common use of UNPAID LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Clause in Contracts

UNPAID LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. A faculty member may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted an unpaid leave of absence not to exceed two (2) years for professional development. Such request for an unpaid leave of absence for professional development must be submitted at least six (6) calendar weeks prior to the effective date of initiation of the unpaid leave. Faculty on such leave shall be able to receive health and life insurance benefits, provided that the faculty member pays the full month’s premium(s) monthly in advance.
