UNPAID LEAVE FOR SERIOUS AND CONTINUING PERSONAL PROBLEM. A faculty member, at the discretion of the Board, may be granted an unpaid leave of absence not to exceed one (1) academic year in case of serious and continuing personal problems. Such request must be submitted as soon as possible, which normally will be done one (1) month prior to the effective date of initiation of the unpaid leave of absence. Faculty on such leave shall be able to receive health, dental, and life insurance benefits, provided that the faculty member pays the full month’s premium(s) monthly in advance.
