Professional Development Day. The Employees shall be entitled to spend three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of doing research and preparation related to their work at a date mutually acceptable to the Employer and the Employee.
Professional Development Day. Employees, with prior approval, may attend the MSEA Convention. All reasonable requests will be approved.
Professional Development Day. 26.01 The Employer in consultation with the Union, will conduct a Professional Development Day for Graduate Assistants/Research Assistants to assist them in the performance of their duties. Employees who attend will receive work credit for the duration of the session up to a maximum of six (6) hours. The Union will be granted up to thirty (30) minutes during this Professional Development Day to present and acquaint members with Collective Agreement provisions and Union officer contact information.
Professional Development Day. 43.01 Each year, the Board shall grant one (1) common day with pay to all employees, for the purpose of Professional Development.
43.02 The Board shall recognize a Professional Development Committee of three (3) representatives of the Union which will be responsible for developing the P.D. day programs, subject to the approval of the Director of Education.
44.01 If schools and/or Board offices are not officially closed
i) notifies their Principal and/or Supervisor
ii) submits a letter indicating that the employee tried to get to work but was unable to do so due to road conditions.
Professional Development Day. Each bargaining unit employee may be granted, at the Union’s sole discretion, one (1) Professional Development Day (PDD) each calendar year. The Professional Development Day may not carry over from year-to-year. An employee may request such leave with at least twenty (20) days before the date for which leave is requested, in accordance with established procedures. No more than forty (40) bargaining unit members may take a Professional Development Day on the same date. Leave under this Section shall not be unreasonably withheld. If an employee’s request cannot be met due to business necessity, which will only occur when the employee’s department/office is suffering from shortage of staff, high-demand seasons or when there is an extraordinary need for the work of the employee, an alternative date shall be scheduled.

Professional Development Day. 53.1 There will be the equivalent of up to one workday for job related Professional Development activities, at no expense to the Board. In order to maintain service levels within the schools and departments, the In-Service will be provided in one-half (1/2) day sessions with a maximum of one- half the bargaining unit being available for any one session. All probationary and permanent Members and those temporary and casual Members working in long term assignments may participate in this day.
53.2 The President of the Bargaining Unit, the Manager, Employee Relations or designate will meet each year during the month of September to determine the appropriate date(s) for the Professional Development Day.
53.3 Where the employer requires an employee to upgrade or learn a new computer program, for their current position, the Employer shall provide such training during the working day. The employer shall endeavour to provide casual assistance in the event of mandatory training.
Professional Development Day. A professional development day will be provided to Department personnel each year. The program agenda and content will be developed jointly by the Association and the Professional Development Department. The District will assume all costs for this workshop.
Professional Development Day. Beginning in the 2004-2005 school year, an additional day will be scheduled into the calendar for all non year-round employees for the purpose of professional development. The activities for this day will be planned by the Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning in collaboration with the Professional Development Council. This additional day shall be reflected in the number of days listed in all non year-round salary schedules in Appendix A.
Professional Development Day. Employees will be allowed one (1) paid day per year for elective conferences or training, not including required training or conferences, with Principal/supervisor approval. This day shall not be deducted from vacation or personal leave days.
