Upholding Levels of Protection in the Application and Enforcement of Laws, Regulations or Standards. 1. A Party shall not fail to effectively enforce its environmental and labour laws, regulations or standards in a manner affecting trade or investment between the Parties. 2. Subject to Article 35, a Party shall not: (a) weaken or reduce the levels of environmental or labour protection provided by its laws, regulations or standards with the sole intention to encourage investment from another Party or to seek or to enhance a competitive trade advantage of producers or service providers operating in its territory; or (b) waive or otherwise derogate from, or offer to waive or otherwise derogate from, such laws, regulations or standards in order to encourage investment from another Party or to seek or to enhance a competitive trade advantage of producers or service providers operating in its territory.

  • Right to Regulate and Levels of Protection 1. The Parties recognise the right of each Party to establish its own levels of domestic environmental and labour protection, and to adopt or modify accordingly its relevant laws and policies, consistently with internationally recognised standards and agreements to which they are a party.

  • Interpretation and Enforcement 1. The Parties shall take all appropriate measures, whether general or specific, to ensure fulfilment of the obligations arising out of this Agreement and shall refrain from any measures which would jeopardise attainment of the objectives of this Agreement.

  • COMPLIANCE OF LAWS, NOTIFICATIONS ETC. BY PARTIES The Parties are entering into this Agreement for the allotment of a [Apartment/Plot] with the full knowledge of all laws, rules, regulations, notifications applicable to the project.

  • Effect of Laws, Rules and Regulations The Exclusive Representative recognizes that all employees covered by this Agreement shall perform the services and duties prescribed by the School District and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota and by School District rules, regulations, directives and orders, issued by properly designated officials of the School District. The Exclusive Representative also recognizes the right, obligation and duty of the School District and its duly designated officials to promulgate rules, regulations, directives and orders from time to time as deemed necessary by the School District insofar as such rules, regulations, directives and orders are not inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement, and recognizes that the School District, all employees covered by this agreement, and all provisions of this Agreement are subject to State and Federal law. Any provisions of this Agreement found to be in violation of any such laws, rules, regulation directives or orders shall be null and void and without force and effect.
