The Recipient agrees to comply with the Federal administrative requirements that apply to the category in which it belongs: (1) U.S. DOT regulations, "Uniform Administrative Requirements for Grants and Cooperative Agreements to State and Local Governments," 49 C.F.R. Part 18, apply to a Recipient that is a State, local, or Indian tribal government. (2) U.S. DOT regulations, "Uniform Administrative Requirements for Grants and Agreements with Institutions of Higher Education, Hospitals, and Other Non‑Profit Organizations," 49 C.F.R. Part 19, apply to a Recipient that is an institution of higher education or a nonprofit organization. (3) Unless FTA determines otherwise in writing, U.S. DOT regulations, "Uniform Administrative Requirements for Grants and Agreements with Institutions of Higher Education, Hospitals, and Other Non‑profit Organizations," 49 C.F.R. Part 19, apply to a Recipient that is a private for‑profit organization.
