Common use of Vacation Planner Clause in Contracts

Vacation Planner. The Employer shall post a vacation planner containing each employee's number of weeks of vacation entitlement by February 15th of each year so as to enable employees to write in their preferred vacation time. Employees shall have until March 15th of each year to write in their preferred vacation time. Vacation will be awarded in accordance with seniority and will not be unreasonably denied. If there is conflict between employees’ preferences in choice of vacation time, senior employees will be given preference provided junior employees have the ability to perform the necessary work. On April 1st of each year the Employer shall post a finalized vacation schedule which shall then be updated on a monthly basis to reflect vacation scheduled throughout the year. Such a request must be made two weeks prior to the pre-scheduled vacation. Any vacation requests after March 15th will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Employees making such late requests will not have preference in the choice of vacation time where other employees have indicated their preference.
