VACATIONS WITH PAY. 14.01 An Employee shall be granted, except as otherwise expressly provided herein, an annual vacation with pay according to their aggregate credited service as follows: Years of Service Vacation Entitlement Weeks Days 14.02 All vacations granted shall be considered to start on a Sunday Morning. A weeks' vacation shall mean a calendar week of seven (7) days with five (5) days' pay. Each day's pay shall be calculated at eight (8) hours straight time based on the daily rate of pay in effect at the time the vacation is taken. 14.03 Notwithstanding the schedule of vacation leave noted in Article 14.01, an Employee, who has been granted and taken vacation leave and terminates their employment with the Employer before the anniversary date when the Employee commenced work, shall have the unearned portion of vacation leave deducted from their termination pay as per Article 14.8. 14.04 All vacations granted in any year shall be determined on the basis of the aggregate credited service of the Employee. Service is calculated on the basis of regular hours worked, and also includes any period or periods of paid absence due to sickness (certified by a medical practitioner), bereavement, jury duty, accident while on duty, maternity/parental/adoptive leave or leave of absence for Union business. All other periods of absence, other than those noted above, will reduce an Employee's vacation entitlement in the same proportion as the factor by which the period of absence relates to the full calendar year. 14.05 Employees will be given an opportunity, based on seniority within their section or work unit, as per Article 19.01, to bid for the vacations with pay to which they are entitled. Employees will not be permitted to exchange vacations, alter the dates after selection has been made, nor extend the vacation period except in special cases. Blocks for vacation in the Operations Division in a given year will be first posted for sign-up not later than October 15th of the preceding year, provisional sign-up to be completed by one (1) calendar month later. The vacation blocks posted for the ten (10) week summer period will be a minimum of nine-percent (9%) of full-time permanent Operators that exist on the 1st day of the month of September of the preceding vacation year. VACATIONS WITH PAY. 12.01 Employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to the following vacations with pay. 12.02 Full-time employees who, on April 30th of each year, have less than one (1) year's continuous service, will be entitled to receive an amount equal to four (4%) percent of their total wages earned during the period of employment, for which no vacation allowance has been paid up to April 30th. Such employee shall be allowed time off for vacation purposes, without pay, up to two (2) consecutive weeks, during the months of April 1st to October 15th, inclusive, unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the employee and the Company. 12.03 Any full-time employee who, on April 30th of each year, has one (1) year of continuous service but less than five (5) years, shall receive two (2) weeks' vacation with pay at four (4%) percent of total annual gross earnings, paid up to the time of going on vacation. 12.04 Any full-time employee who, on April 30th of each year, has five (5) years but less than ten (10) years, shall receive three (3) weeks' vacation with pay at six (6%) percent of total annual gross earnings paid up to the time of going on vacation. 12.05 Any full-time employee who, on April 30th of each year, has ten (10) years but less than thirteen (13) years, shall receive four (4) weeks' vacation with pay at eight (8%) percent of total annual gross earnings, paid up to the time of going on vacation. 12.06 Any full-time employee who, on April 30th of each year, has thirteen (13) years or more of continuous service, shall receive five (5) weeks' vacation with pay at ten (10%) percent of total annual gross earnings, paid up to the time of going on vacation. 12.07 The vacation period for all employees in the bargaining unit shall be from April 1st to October 15th of each year, unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the employee and the Company. The Company will not unreasonably deny requests for vacation time off outside of the regular vacation period. Pharmacy Techs shall not be permitted to take vacation during the month of March. VACATIONS WITH PAY. 11.01 Each year's vacation requirements for any full-time employee to qualify for the respective periods of vacation with pay, as set forth below, are that they have worked for the Employer not less than ninety-five (95%) percent of the regular, full- time hours during a continuous twelve (12) month period, but time for absence from work not to include: (1) the period of vacation; (2) the aggregate of periods not exceeding thirty (30) working days in all, comprised of: (i) time during which the employee has been authorized by the (ii) time in respect of which the employee files with the Employer a certificate, signed by a duly qualified Medical Practitioner, that they are unfit to work during that time, by reason of their illness or injury. Where a full-time employee does not qualify for vacation with pay as outlined above, they shall receive vacation pay calculated at two (2%) percent of their total wages earned for each week of vacation entitlement, for which no vacation allowance has been paid. 11.02 Full-time employees with less than one (1) year's full-time service by April 1st will receive an amount equal to four (4%) percent of their total wages earned during the period of employment for which no vacation allowance has been paid up to April 1st. Such employees shall be allowed time off for vacation purposes, without pay, up to two (2) consecutive weeks during the months of April 1st to September 30th, inclusive, unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the employee and the Employer. 11.03 Vacation entitlement for full-time employees based on years of continuous full-time service will be as follows (with the exception of part-time employees going to full-time as set out in sub-article 11.19): one (1) or more years by April 1st - two (2) weeks' vacation with pay; three (3) or more years by April 1st - three (3) weeks' vacation with pay; eight (8) or more years by April 1st - four (4) weeks' vacation with pay, (with the exception of the first calendar year when an employee qualifies for the fourth week by October 1st);
VACATIONS WITH PAY. 13.01 The vacation year shall be from January 1 to December 31. 13.02 During their first calendar year of employment full-time employees shall be entitled to receive an amount equal to four (4%) percent of their regular earnings, for which no vacation allowance has been paid. Such employee shall be allowed time off for vacation purposes, without pay, up to a maximum of two (2) weeks. 13.03 The Company will grant vacations with pay as follows: (a) two (2) weeks’ vacation with pay after one (1) year of service; (b) three (3) weeks’ vacation with pay after five (5) years of service; (c) four (4) weeks’ vacation with pay after twelve (12) years of service; (d) five (5) weeks’ vacation with pay after seventeen (17) years of service; (e) six (6) weeks’ vacation with pay after twenty-three (23) years of service. 13.04 Employees entitled to two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5) or six (6) weeks' vacation and who leave their employment, or whose employment is terminated, shall receive a vacation allowance in an amount equal to four (4%) percent, six (6%) percent, eight (8%) percent, ten (10%) or twelve (12%) percent, as the case may be, of their total wages earned during the period of employment for which no vacation allowance has been paid. 13.05 No employee will have their vacation entitlement reduced by reason of an absence (not to exceed nine (9) months) for sickness, accident (including Workers Compensation), vacation, maternity/ parental leave, or any other authorized leave of absence. Employees whose absence exceeds nine (9) months in any vacation year will receive vacation pay in the amount of two (2%) percent of the previous vacation year's earnings for each week of vacation the employee would normally be entitled to receive. In addition, such employee will be allowed time off for vacation purposes equal to the time off they would normally be entitled to receive. 13.06 The Employer agrees to allow employees to take their annual vacations consecutively, up to a maximum of two (2) weeks, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon. 13.07 The Employer will post a projected vacation entitlement list by March 1st of each year. Employees shall indicate their preferences to management as to dates within thirty (30) calendar days of the posting of the projected entitlement list. VACATIONS WITH PAY. 8.01 The Union acknowledges that the Company has the right to schedule vacations at any time during the year, however, a sincere effort will be made to grant vacations at the time or times wanted by the employee, giving longer service employees preference. Vacations of more than 2 weeks during July and August will not necessarily be scheduled consecutively. Should the Company elect to close the plant for a one or two week vacation period, all eligible employees will take vacations at that time, provided their services are not required for particular work. 8.02 A notice will be posted on January 1st of the current calendar year requesting employees to state their choice of vacation dates. Such notice will be removed by the Company on February 1st and the vacation schedule prepared in accordance with the other provisions of this Article and posted within seven days. Requests to reschedule vacation periods after that date will be considered by the Company, provided the rescheduling does not interfere with the vacations of other employees or with the efficient operation of the plant. 8.03 An employee with six months or more but less then one year of service by July 1st of the current year shall be entitled to one week of vacation. Pay for such vacation shall be 4% of the employee's earnings for his period of employment up to June 30th of the current year. 8.04 An employee with one year or more but less than five years' service by July 1st of the current year shall be entitled to two weeks' vacation. Pay for such vacation shall be 4% of the employee's earnings for the twelve-month period ending June 30th of the current year. 8.05 An employee who has completed five years' service or more but less than ten years' service by July 1st of the current year shall be entitled to three weeks' vacation. Pay for such vacation shall be 6% of the employee's earnings for the twelve-month period ending June 30th of the current year. 8.06 An employee who has completed ten years' service or more but less than eighteen years' by July 1st of the current year shall be entitled to four weeks' vacation. VACATIONS WITH PAY. 17.01 All employees with one (1) or more years of seniority shall be granted two (2) weeks vacation with pay based on four percent (4%) of their total gross earnings for the previous twelve (12) months. 17.02 All employees with five (5) or more years seniority shall be granted three (3) weeks vacation with pay based on six percent (6%) of their total gross earnings for the previous calendar year. 17.03 All employees with ten (10) or more years seniority shall be granted four (4) weeks vacation with pay based on eight percent (8%) of their total gross earnings of the previous calendar year. 17.04 Vacations shall be granted in accordance with employees bargaining unit seniority on a departmental basis. 17.05 Vacation schedules shall be posted by the Employer not earlier than April 1st but not later than April 7th of each year. Such schedules shall remain posted until May 1st of each year. During the above period employees shall indicate their vacation time off to be taken. There shall be no changes to the vacation schedule after May 1st, and employees shall then be entitled to take their vacation as scheduled. A copy of the final vacation schedule shall be posted on the Union bulletin board. 17.06 Employees shall be entitled to take two (2) weeks vacation entitlement consecutively. Employees may be allowed to take more than two (2) weeks consecutive vacation entitlement provided permission is granted by the Employer. 17.07 The Employer agrees that a minimum of three (3) employees may be absent on vacation at any one time providing the Employer has a sufficient work force to maintain proper operation of the business.
VACATIONS WITH PAY. 9.01 The Company shall grant to all employees covered hereunder vacations with pay as follows: Employees who have completed one (1) or more years of service with the Company shall be entitled to two (2) weeks' vacation, with pay based on 4% of their gross earnings in the previous calendar year. Employees who have completed five (5) or more years of service with the Company shall be entitled to three (3) weeks' vacation, with pay based on 6% of their gross earnings in the previous calendar year. (a) If a paid holiday falls within an employee's vacation, the employee shall at their option receive a day's pay in lieu of the holiday, or a mutually agreed alternate day. This alternate day will not be unreasonably withheld provided that the employee gives 2 weeks written notice prior to the alternate day on a form supplied by the Company. Company will give written authorization within the next five (5) days after notification is given. (b) In the event the employee asks to use the accumulated holiday with less than the above mentioned notice, and the request does not interfere with production, the request shall be granted. 9.04 All employees by classification and seniority will be called in to the Shift Coordinator’s office between December 1st and December 21st to select their vacation weeks for the period between the first full week of January of the subsequent year and the last full week in December of that same year.
