Common use of Verbal Step Clause in Contracts

Verbal Step. Any employee having a problem concerning his working conditions which may give rise to a grievance, must discuss it first with his immediate supervisor or designate, accompanied by an available Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ if he so desires and subject to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ obtaining permission from his supervisor, which permission will be granted at a time convenient for operational purposes, to attend said meeting in order to attempt to settle it. The supervisor or designate will give his answer as soon as possible, but no later than five (5) working days following the discussion.
