Informal Step. As an informal step, the employee is encouraged to make an xxxxxxx effort to resolve the grievance directly with the management person to whom the employee reports. At the employee’s option, the employee may be accompanied by the Shop Xxxxxxx for the Department in which the employee works. Where no Department Xxxxxxx exists, the Employee may choose to be accompanied by the hotel Shop Xxxxxxx.
Informal Step. Before filing a formal written grievance, the grievant shall attempt to resolve the grievance through an informal conference with the grievant's immediate supervisor. Such conference, as well as actual formal filing of a written grievance in the event the conference does not resolve the problem, must take place within the applicable time limits as outlined in Step I below.

Informal Step. A grievance shall, whenever possible, be discussed informally between the Employee and the immediate supervisor within the twenty (20) working day limitation provided for in paragraph A. above. In such event, the Employee shall identify the discussion as a grievance at the informal step. The Employee may be assisted by a Union representative. The immediate supervisor shall reply within seven (7) working days. In the event the immediate supervisor does not respond within the time limits prescribed herein, the Employee or the Union may pursue the grievance to the next step.
Step 1. If the Employee is not satisfied with the result of the informal conference, the Employee or the Union may submit a written statement of the grievance to the department head or department head’s designee within seven (7) working days after receiving the answer to the informal complaint; or if the immediate supervisor does not reply to the informal complaint within seven (7) working days, the Employee or the Union may submit a written statement of the grievance to the department head or department head’s designee within fourteen (14) working days from the initial submission of the informal complaint; or if the grievance was not discussed informally between the Employee and the immediate supervisor, the Employee or the Union may submit a written statement of the grievance to the department head or department head’s designee within the twenty (20) working days of the date of notification of the adverse action as specified in paragraph A above. A meeting shall be held by the Employee and a Union representative with the department head or the department head’s designee within seven (7) working days after the written grievance is received. The department head or designee shall submit a written answer to the Employee or the Union within seven (7) working days after the meeting. The department head or department head’s designee shall use the conditions prescribed in §76-41(b), HRS, in reaching a decision, provided that only conditions 1 through 6 shall be used in reaching a decision for an adverse action for failure to meet performance requirements concerning a covered exempt Employee.
Informal Step. A required discussion of the allegation between the grievant and the appropriate administrator, in an attempt to resolve the grievance.
Informal Step. Prior to filing a personal grievance, on a matter that is other than disciplinary, as hereinafter provided, an employee shall normally attempt, by informal discussion with his/her Principal, to resolve any matter which could be the subject of a grievance. In this discussion, the employee may be accompanied by a Union representative, and the Principal may be assisted by the Manager of Employee Relations/Services or designate. This discussion must take place not later than five (5) working days following the date of the incident giving rise to the potential grievance. The Principal's response must be made not later than three (3) working days following the discussion. Any matter not settled at this stage may become the subject of a grievance and be dealt with as follows:
Informal Step. A grievant or the Union shall first take up a complaint or problem with the appropriate supervisor in a private informal conference. Every effort should be made by the grievant and the appropriate supervisor to settle the grievance at this level. An individual grievant may be accompanied by a representative of the Union. Resolutions of grievances at the informal step shall be consistent with this agreement and District Policy.
Informal Step i) The party alleging contravention of the collective agreement shall first attempt to resolve the matter by informal discussion with either the appropriate superintendent or duly authorized representative of the Bargaining Unit as the case may be.
ii) Such a meeting shall occur within ten (10) school days of the date of the alleged contravention of the agreement.
Informal Step. The grievant shall discuss the grievance within fifteen (15) days after the occurrence of the matter giving rise to the grievance with his/her immediate supervisor, or the administrator having authority to resolve the grievance if that is not the immediate supervisor.
Informal Step. In the event that the grievant believes there is a basis for a grievance, he/she may first discuss the alleged grievance with the immediate administrative person who has the authority to bring about a resolution of the alleged problem within ten (10) days.
